"One of the greatest obstacles in meditation is our obsession to only perceive this moment with thinking.
We cling on to our definitions and descriptions that define our reality and then are unwilling to look past that.
Because to look past that, we have to let go of that perception.
We have to stop clinging on to definitions and experience this moment without thought perception; to experience this moment with naked attention. We must go beyond knowing in order to truly immerse ourselves in what meditation is.
That means to let our attention be free of being involved with thinking so that it is free to just be attention.
When attention is not bound by our self created identification, it has no limits, no solidity, no separation.
All of the ideas about spirituality and enlightenment are just ideas, just dead things compared to limitless attention.
And although you can practice meditation, to train your mind into recognizing awareness, you can do spiritual practices that are very helpful, none of that is really worth anything unless something else comes through.
Something that is not your doing; that has no shape or form; that is beyond all definitions and descriptions.
Because when we try and do it ourselves, it is that identification with thinking that is doing it. It is our knowing that is trying to do it.
So something else must happen that is not our doing.
Something that is beyond knowing comes in and takes you beyond knowing and then there is freedom, then you are in awe of life itself.
That something we call Grace. We call it Shakti. But truly we don’t know what it is, because it is beyond knowing.
And although we don't know what it is, it is something we can feel and in this way the mind recognizes it. The mind not only recognizes it but is attracted to it; drawn to it. And in this way the mind is absorbed in the unknown and meditation simply happens.
